Accent Skin Tightening
The Accent radio-frequency system is a revolutionary new device designed to treat the following problems:

The treatment is non invasive, non surgical and does not require any local or general anaesthetic.

Unique Dual Radio-frequency Technology

The Accent is the only system on the market which employs two types of radio-frequency technology: Unipolar and Bipolar. The radio-frequency technology is used to heat the target tissue in a controlled manner.

The Bipolar handpiece is designed to tighten skin. This handpiece stimulates collagen contraction followed by new collagen production over several months leading to new and rejuvenated skin.

The Unipolar handpiece is used for areas with more underlying fat and penetrates deeper into the skin reaching adipose (fat) tissue and cellulite. In addition to collagen contraction and new collagen production, the Unipolar handpiece is designed to sufficiently heat the tissue to cause permanent destruction of fat cells in the target area.

This system can be used to enhance the effects of other body contouring procedures such as the Ultrashape Body Contour System.

What can I expect during treatment?

Prior to the start of your first treatment, measurements and photos are taken to record progress. Treatments take approximately 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the size of the area. The area to be treated is outlined and after removing all jewellery, the patient is asked to lie down. The handpiece is passed over the skin and the underlying tissue is gradually heated. The temperature of the skin is monitored using a laser thermometer. When the therapeutic temperature is reached, a further four passes are made over the treatment area.

You can resume your daily routine immediately after treatment.

Is the treatment painful?

This is a non surgical, non invasive, office procedure and does not require anaesthetic. The skin is heated to a comfortable temperature which is monitored throughout the procedure. Most patients report a painless and comfortable experience.

Is the Accent treatment permanent?

Our patients are showing long lasting results with a high patient satisfaction.
We do recommend maintenance treatments after your course of treatment is completed.

What areas can be treated?

This device can be used to treat most areas of the body including the face, neck, arms, abdomen, buttocks and thighs.

Can everyone be treated?

The treatment is designed for both men and women and all skin types.

How many treatments are required?

The number of treatments depends on the starting body shape and the desired outcome.

A course of eight treatments at three weekly intervals is recommended to obtain maximum results. Rarely, some severe cases may require a 2nd or 3rd course of treatments.

Results are usually noticed within 4 sessions of treatment. The final results may not be seen for several months, as new collagen is produced over this period.

Are there any side effects?

The Accent procedure is a non surgical “walk-in, walk-out” procedure not requiring any anaesthetic or time off work to recover.

Following treatment, the treated area may be mildly warm and red. This usually resolves within a few hours.

Dry skin may occur in the first 12 hours after treatment and usually resolves within 48 hours. A moisturiser can be used.

On rare occasions, a blister, prolonged discomfort, redness or swelling may occur. These conditions usually resolve with conservative treatment.

What should I do before treatment?

No special preparatory procedures are required.

What should I do after treatment?

There are no bandages, dressings or wounds to worry about. Simply return to your daily routine without interruption. We do encourage a healthy lifestyle including maintaining your ideal body weight, eating a healthy low fat diet and regular exercise.

Is this treatment suitable for everyone?

This procedure may not be suitable for people who:

    Is it Expensive?

Therefore, we suggest you book in for a free consultation with one of our doctors who can explain the procedure in more detail and provide you with a price for a treatment plan.
